Church wedding songs and hymns
At Singers4Weddings, our soloists offer a wide repertoire of songs and hymns, from traditional favourites and opera to modern upbeat songs and musicals. See our wedding songs page for the top 50 or so items we sing.
Music in a church wedding serviceThere are usually four parts to any wedding service:
|
The prelude is the time when your guests arrive and take their seats in the church. You can have soft background music playing, or your organist can play a suitable selection. We don't recommend live singing during the prelude, as your guests want to chat and greet friends, not to sit and listen to us!
The processional is the arrival of the bridal party and their entry into church. There should be a pause between the prelude music and the processional, marking a change of mood and an air of excitement! Our professional singers can sing as the bride enter the church, a wonderful musical welcome that soars high into the church and sets the mood of celebration and delight.
The wedding ceremony usually includes two or three hymns, which we lead to give everyone else confidence to join in with gusto. We suggest you choose popular hymns that you know, so chances are, your friends and relatives will know them too. The ceremony also includes the signing of register, during which our singers usually perform one or two songs to delight you and your guests.
Then, it's the recessional, as you both process down the aisle as man and wife together. This is normally a rousing finale, and we can sing a suitably joyous song that celebrates your marriage and gives everyone time to take pictures and Auntie to have a quick cry!

Do I need a church choir at my wedding?
At Singers4Weddings, we are always happy to join in with church choirs singing hymns, and often we perform just as soloists at the signing of the register. If your church does not have a choir, or you don't wish one, our soloists are plenty loud enough to sing all your church wedding music and lead the hymns themselves.
Do I need a church organist for my wedding?
If, like us, you love live music, an organist is always preferable to accompany the hymns and play before the service. Your organist usually accompanies us too when we sing, and we'll arrange to meet them for a quick rehearsal before the ceremony too. If the song is just not suitable for an organ accompaniment, or the organist doesn't wish to play it, we bring our own professionally recorded backing tracks and discreet PA system to accompany us at no extra charge.
